Our Services
Accredited, insured and with a wealth of experience, ACWArb offers all aspects of tree surgery work:
Felling & Dismantling
Sometimes it is necessary to remove a tree(s) and available space will not allow the tree to be straight felled. We use the latest rigging techniques where necessary to dismantle in confined spaces. We pride ourselves in causing as little distribution as possible and a thorough clean up.
Crown lifting
Crown lifting involves the pruning or removal of lower branches to effectively raise the canopy level. This can increase clearance for pedestrians, vehicles, buildings or to improve a line of sight. This can also help with light to the area under the trees canopy.
Crown reduction
Crown reduction pruning is to reduce the overall size of the canopy. This is an effective way to manage a tree that is outgrowing its available space, it can reduce the trees wind sail effect and overall canopy weight. Different species react differently to this kind of pruning work, it can also initially increase the tree’s growth rates.
Crown thinning
Crown thinning is selectively removing branches throughout the canopy. This does not affect the tree's overall size but does increase light levels as it allows dappled light to pass through, it also helps to reduce the tree's wind sail effect.
Deadwood removal
Standing deadwood is extremely beneficial for wildlife value but it is often necessary to remove major deadwood from a safety aspect.
Ivy removal
Ivy is great for wildlife value but can cause many issues with trees if it is allowed to spread throughout the canopy. It adds to the windsail effect particularly for deciduous trees during ever increasing seasonal storms. It prevents visual inspections from being carried out at ground level and it can damage/strangle trees as they grow. We can sever the ivy at ground level or completely remove all ivy from the tree.
Formative pruning
This is the pruning of a young tree in order to improve its long term structure and remove potential weaknesses.
Stump Grinding
Stump removal allows for replanting, fencing or turfing.
Tree Surveys & Planting
We find planting very rewarding work and can advise you on which species would be suitable.
Cable Bracing
Supplementary structural support intended to reduce the risk of failure of weak branches or multiple stems.
